"The outlet for my paintings can be a personal narrative, impressive
experience or observation, which I try to clarify in very simple motifs, as what stands out most clearly if you were to recall everything that happened in a single moment. In my motifs I want to capture both the fleetingness of the moment and its possible defining ramifications, as a weighty inhalation between a before and an after; like a quick finger in the air to feel which way the wind is blowing."

The starting point for Trine's paintings can be a personal narrative or just every day observations, which she explores through very simple motifs with light and tender brush strokes. She aims to have a minimalist, semi-transparent feel in her paintings which she finds best captures the experience of time as something fleeting and ungraspable.
