Sofie Burgaard is a Visual Artist and studies at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts.
Her art exists in the intersection between the recognizable and the unknown. As an artist, she works with patterns as repetition represents something both safe and disturbing all at once. The infinity of the patterns can be both fantastic and horrible. If it is a pattern, it cannot change. Patterns are static, stable, and captivating. Pre-washed textiles, bleached plastic, and flowers are where the colors are retrieved. To Sofie, light colors mean comfort, sensibility, and decay.
