When they moved into the factory in the spring of 1986, a couple of furniture prototypes were placed in one of the corners of the building. And in the beginning before their production was up and running, they filled empty echo rooms with art exhibitions and jazz concerts. The space quickly became a place where something fun was always happening, inspiring the name "Station", evoking a constant stream of change, like any other kind of station.
Blå Station is driven by a desire to put furniture into production that deserves a place in the market. Curiosity is theis brand's fuel. They keep searching, not for the known and established, but for the unexpected, the not-yet-discovered. For them, it is not enough that a product has never been shown before. In order for an item to be considered new, it must have a new attitude in either form, function, material or the industrial production process. New furniture needs to be better for something and offer an alternative to what already exists.
