Sigrid Buus is a Danish artist living in Copenhagen. She got her degree in Industrial Design in 2006 from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
Sigrid creates stacking sculptures from vintage and recycled elements. The sculptures compliment each other in small families and consist of all kinds of materials. All parts are found around the country at flea markets and in small vintage shops – and then combined into unique sculptures. Every element has a story of its own – a different shape and a different function. Some are old ceramic vases, glass lamp shades or candlesticks and some are brass parts from old lamps, old wooden tools or furniture parts.
As all sculptures consist of vintage and recycled elements, please notice that each part may have patina or small flaws as a result of their previous lives. This is all part of the beauty of recycling and contributes to the story of each sculpture.
